5 types of staff training for PX tech success

When implementing new technology, effective user training helps lead to higher adoption and overall value to both staff and patients.

Training provides your teams an opportunity to learn the system, adapt their workflows, understand the benefits and realize its full capabilities. When your teams are effectively and successfully trained, your technology system will likewise be effective and successful.

Here are five types of staff training SONIFI Health recommends for implementation, new staff onboarding, and ongoing skills maintenance.

1. Technical training

This training is targeted to staff responsible for the maintenance and/or construction of the patient room TV hardware, nurse call system hardware, television system cabling network, IT systems hardware and any other technical aspects of your specific SONIFI Health solution.

2. Clinical user training

This training targets nurses, clinical administrators and patient educators. It covers how both patients and clinical users interact with the system, and it walks users through patient education guidelines and best practices.

3. Clinical train-the-trainer training

In addition to clinical user training, SONIFI Health provides training to support team members responsible for training new staff and re-training current staff. This training also covers how to use the materials and tools to ensure all staff responsible for educating patients receive both implementation and ongoing training.

4. Administrative & analytics training

It’s important to align hospital goals and key drivers behind the purchase of an interactive patient engagement solution. This training targets team members responsible for monitoring system performance and driving adoption and usage.

5. Content manager training

Our system is designed align with your organization’s digital media strategy and policies. This training targets team members responsible for building and maintaining the content on digital signage displays and other endpoints for patients, visitors and staff.

Just like our ongoing support and commitment to your success, training for your team isn’t done after go-live.

Training is an ongoing process, but it doesn’t have to be difficult — especially when you have the materials and a plan to keep both new and existing staff current.

We can also do webinar training as well as custom on-site training refreshers. We can help you build onboarding and training programs that set up your teams not only for a successful implementation, but also for continued success.

While no formal training is provided to patients and family members due to the system’s ease of use, SONIFI Health does provide tools and orientation videos that you can use to introduce the system to your patients and visitors.
